Bridgeton Neighbors,

For the last year and a half, I have been serving on an Oregon Solutions team of regional leaders which has been working to address the accreditation and certification of the Peninsula Drainage Districts 1 and 2 levees along the Columbia River.

Since that time, the team has completed visual and geotechnical surveys of the levees, (Bridgeton Road, by the way, is in pretty good shape!) and has formed a Declaration of Cooperation outlining how the team will work together in the future. Much work has been completed, a significant amount of information has been gleaned, and the future has been laid out.

On Friday, July 17, I signed the Declaration on behalf of the Bridgeton Neighborhood Association board of directors.

The Declaration and a one-page flyer about the levee improvement program are below.

For further information, please read this article in the Portland Tribune, and view this piece from KOIN-TV.

In the coming months, contractors with the Multnomah County Drainage District, working under the direction of the Oregon Solutions technical committee, will be contacting some residents of the Bridgeton neighborhood to inventory properties which may lie in encroachment areas of the levee. The purpose of the inventory is to develop plans on how to address the areas during high water events.

Please take the time to survey these documents, and don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

All the best,

Karen Kane

Co-chair

The first would be when you consider an office space where the office interiors have neutral shade of gray, black or brown. These spaces are done in a manner that complementing colours are used. However, the presence of white office chairs are sure to make a person who walks into that space, do a double take. Next, consider an office where the interiors have vibrant colours. The colours are warm or cool. They are done in such a way that the items in the office space complement each other. Nevertheless, there are white office chairs in the same area. This could just about ruin the painstakingly done up colourful interiors.

I am pretty sure that working with this firm has been good for your resume and you should keep it up. There is nothing in this world that you are able to get without making effort.

I would like to honestly say that this kind of leader who is very transparent with the things she does is very rare nowadays. As we all can observe, there are a lot of leaders, mostly in the government, who are corrupt that is why they don't want their countrymen to know the things that they are doing and about to do. That is why, my message for those who plan to run for a position as a leader, be transparent, and for those who are going to choose or vote, please do it wisely. I hope this could help you in the future. Let's be wise!
